Ricky Skaggs, Johnny Gimble en Dottie West zijn afgelopen zondag officiëel benoemd tot lid van The Country Music Hall Of Fame. Tijdens de Medallion Ceremony benoemde Garth Brooks Ricky Skaggs officiëel tot lid.
“It’s kinda hard to believe that this day has really come,” said Skaggs. “To hear someone say, ‘The newest member of the Country Music Hall of Fame’ are some of the greatest words you could ever hear this side of Heaven! I’m so grateful to be inducted into this revered Hall among these highly honored and most beloved people. It’s beyond humbling.”
Aansluitend kreeg Ricky een eerbetoon met een door Garth Brooks, Sierra Hull en Larry Cordle gezongen “Highway 40 Blues”, gevolgd door Dierks Bentley met “You’ve Got A Lover” en Chris Stapleton met “The Darkest Hour Is Just Before Dawn”.
Ricky Skaggs is ingedeeld in de categorie “Modern Era Artist”, wijlen Dottie West in de “Veterans Era Artist” categorie en wijlen Johnny Gimble in de “Recording and/or Touring Musician” categorie.
