Loretta Lynn kon niet vertrekken zonder afscheid te nemen. Afgelopen zondagavond 30 oktober kregen haar fans te horen hoezeer ze elk van hen waardeert. Op video van CMT is Lynn ook te zien die met haar vrienden en fans praat, hoewel ze duidelijk maakt dat die twee woorden uitwisselbaar waren.

“CMT’s Coal Miner’s Daughter: A Celebration of the Life & the Music of Loretta Lynn” bevatte meer dan een dozijn countryartiesten die hulde brachten aan Lynn. George Strait, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, Jack White en Little Big Town waren slechts enkelen die haar liedjes zongen, of liedjes die bij de gelegenheid pasten. As a mother, I didn’t have to go to bed heartbroken. What you gave to me allowed me to give them a better life. I hope you know what a gift that is.
